Mr. Olumuyiwa Adejobi an Assistant Commissioner of Police the Force Public Relations Officer met with the head and officers of the Complaints Response Unit headed Alhaji Sani Mustapha a Chief Superintendent of Police at the Force Headquarters Abuja.
The purpose of the meeting according to the police spokesperson is to address some of the issues affecting their operations then to ensure the general public have access to table their complains believing that they will have proper results.
"We have charged them to step up the game and be more proactive. We are sure the unit and its out stations across the country will improve on their services to Nigerians. Thanks." Adejobi said.
It would be recall that Mr. Olukayode Egbetokun the Inspector-General of Police had on 18th August, 2023 ordered States Commissioners of Police to establish Complaint Response Units in their respective command, noting that the new development was due to his zeal to sanitize and standardise the police system for accountability and transparency in line with his commitment to fortify the complaints response mechanisms of the Force.
www.mp3dailynews.com.ng reported that stakeholders, the public, civil society organisations, and other law enforcement agencies, have since been collaborating closely with Police Complaint Response Units and aid the smooth execution of their responsibilities of curbing misconducts, excesses, and unprofessionalism among police officers nationwide.
