Mr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun the Inspector General of Police in his part of initiative to emplace a Police Force that is professionally competent, service-driven, rule of law compliant and people-friendly, he established Complaint Response Units in all Police state commands across the country in line with the provisions of the Nigeria Police Act, 2020, and subsequently organised a two-day workshop for the heads of this unit.
The appointed heads of the states units assembled at the Peacekeeping Hall, 5th floor at the Police Force Headquarters Abuja for induction into their offices and commencement of a two-day workshop, . At the induction ceremony, the Police Boss who was represented by Mr. Olumuyiwa Adejobi an Assistant Commissioner of Police the Force Public Relations Officer charged the officers to be upright and just in the discharge of their duties. He urged them to be firm, up and doing, reiterating the commitment of the Inspector General of Police in ensuring the protection of people's fundamental human rights and promoting the core values of the force.
The induction ceremony and two-day workshop also had in attendance the representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and retired Assistant Inspector General of Police Mr. Austine Iwah and the United Nations certified resource person.
Egbetokun and other partners, however, promised that the unit would continually receive several training and workshop programmes to better equip them for their new responsibilities, and project the vision statement of the new leadership of the police for improved service delivery.
