Return Our Precious Stones and Ornaments

Reminisce that a couple of years ago during Governor Godwin Obaseki's second tenure electioneering campaigns, he flagged off the Ihievbe-Ihieve-ogben road for onward construction - an action that made the entire Ihievbe community resonate in joy and hopes that all dangers militating against the transportation of goods and passengers from the inner communities to Ihievbe town would soon be an agony of the past. Ihievbe people in gratitude gave precious stones and other ornaments  to the Governor in appreciation for assuring them of timely development projects in their domain. Farmers now pay money in owan west to get a military checkpoint in Uzebba/Ifon Road to enable them go to their farms and come back unharmed

Several years later with less than five months for the Governor to vacate the Government house , there are agitations from well meaning Ihievbe sons and daughters who are feeling  cheated by the monstrous Governor whose audacious insensitivity to people's plight is legendary, should not leave office without doing what they have considered the needful.

Consequent upon this, unassailable politician and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress Great Eric Imonitie, speaking on behalf of the Ihievbe community has requested the return of everything gifted to the promise-and-fail Governor for a job not done.

Imonitie addressing newsmen yesterday in Benin City, Edo State Capital said, " I am sending this message to Governor Godwin Obaseki, on behalf of the entire Ihievbe community that we have given up on him, hence our collective resolve that he returns to us all material assets belonging to the community gifted to him in anticipation that he would live up to his promise of tarring the age-longed-Ihievbe Ihievbe-ogben road which has become a unique selling point for the political class to defraud the people of their votes in every election.

"Apart from the precious stones and other ornaments, we gave him rams, goats, yams , tomatoes and peppers and equally prayed for him.Yet, the insulated Governor, as he's feeling, did nothing, instead he's pretty busy, spending tax payers money sponsoring a successor.

"Governor Godwin Obaseki must , as a matter of necessity return our gifts he falsely collected from us even when he knew he had nothing good for the people of Ihievbe. I can tell you for free that his incarnate, Asue Ighodalo won't get a single vote for the sins of his major backer, whose betrayer has further thrown Ihievbe community in description.

Mr. Eric Imonitie hails from Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State, a leader in Ward 4 of Owan East of the All Progressives Congress, he has donated lots to his community like street light, bole holes, cash gift etc He has also  rendered so much humanitarian services to the good people of his Local community and Edo State at large.
