In a major step towards safeguarding Nigeria's critical infrastructure, the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has formed a strategic partnership with the Association of Nigeria Refineries Petroleum Marketers collaborate an initiative which is aimed at enhancing the protection of national assets, was solidified during a high-level.
Receiving Mr. Eniola Thomas Olugbenga the Chairman Of the Lagos Chapter's executive team, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro the Corps Commandant, expressed his strong support for the association’s efforts. He emphasized that this collaboration would strengthen the Corps' ability to secure critical assets, curb vandalism, and protect against economic sabotage in the state. The presence of the association across various Local Government Areas (LGAs), he noted, would provide the Corps with a vital network to work closely in tackling security challenges at the grassroots level.
“The association’s presence across the Local Government Areas in Lagos will enhance our operations and help us prevent acts of destruction, cruelty, and other forms of economic sabotage before they occur,”

He then hailed the collaborative move as pivotal in combating the threats faced by the state's oil and gas infrastructure.
The Lagos Chapter Chairman, Mr. Olugbenga, reaffirmed his association’s trust in the NSCDC’s capacity to uphold its mandate, particularly in combating oil theft, vandalism, and illegal petroleum activities. He stressed that the ANRPM executives are committed to working hand-in-hand with the Corps to rid the state of oil-related crimes, contributing to the economic stability of Lagos and the nation at large.
"We are ready and willing to support the Corps in the fight against oil thieves, vandals, and those engaging in illicit petroleum dealings. Our partnership will ensure these criminals are driven out of Lagos State," Olugbenga remarked.
The partnership, which highlights the importance of collaboration between the NSCDC and key stakeholders in Nigeria’s upstream oil sector, reflects the Corps' determination to advance the federal government’s "Renewed Hope" agenda. Commandant Keshinro emphasized the NSCDC’s commitment to making this agenda a reality by fostering strategic alliances and ensuring the security of vital national infrastructure.
In a stern warning to would-be saboteurs, Commandant Keshinro reiterated the Corps' zero-tolerance stance on vandalism, warning unrepentant criminals to desist from their destructive activities or face the full weight of the law.
"Anyone caught vandalizing or sabotaging our national assets will be prosecuted to the fullest extent possible," he warned.
