Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye the General Overseer of the Redeem Christian Church of God at a colourful night at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, where the Nigeria Police Force hosted its 2024 Christmas Carol of Nine Lessons, Under the leadership of Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, the theme for the evening resonated with the season: “Emmanuel", God is with us.
The Nine Lessons and Carols, is associated with the story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus, told in nine short Bible readings or lessons from Genesis, the prophetic books and the Gospels, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols, hymns and choir anthems.
Pastor Adeboye who took his sermon from the book of Mathew Chapter 1 verse 18 to 23, commended the Nigeria Police Force for organising such an auspicious Carol Service, which according to him is one of the best Night Carol Services he has ever seen.
"Emmanuel" is a very heavy topic because its consisting of three major words, that is, GOD WITH US.
He said though there is no way to do full justice to the topic because it might take a whole day. ."If we start with God, we will talk about his Almightiness, sufficiency, wisdom, power, Grace, mercy, and to faithfulness. If we now go to with, we will understand, against neutrality and then to understand, God for Us.
